Why should we eat a diet rich in Anthocyanins?
Here are five health benefits of including Anthocyanins in your diet.
·
Heart Health
Rigorous scientific evidence has found that foods high in Anthocyanins are great for improving heart health. For example, mounting research is finding that Anthocyanins help reduce the risk of heart disease in women.
It is believed that Anthocyanins have such an effect on decreasing heart disease because these foods decrease blood pressure and prevent arterial stiffness.
There are numerous articles from researchers on this subject and this is a good general overview for anyone wanting more detail.

Cholesterol
The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition performed a study and found that including Anthocyanin-rich foods into your diet reduced LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol) by 13.6% while increasing HDL cholesterol (the good cholesterol) by 13.7%.
Here are the differences between LDL cholesterol and HDL cholesterol. They are vast and important for you to understand to maintain a healthy heart.
LDL cholesterol is the bad kind – it’s a waxy fatty substance that clogs arteries and if they get too clogged up it may cause heart attacks and heart disease.
HDL cholesterol helps clean up the bad cholesterol in your arteries by taking it to the liver that will then filter it out of the body. HDL cholesterol helps prevent heart disease.

Lift your Cognitive Function
Including antioxidants in your diet could be a great way to slow down age related brain function degeneration. Anthocyanin's are powerful antioxidants that can fight off oxidative damage. Oxidative damage increases as we age and can impair memory.
By incorporating such Anthocyanin rich foods as blueberries and strawberries into their diets a study group of women aged over 70 years were found to have a reduction in brain degeneration by 2.5 years.
Another study with animals found that rats fed an Anthocyanin rich diet performed better in memory-related tasks as opposed to the rats that didn’t engage in an Anthocyanin rich diet.

Enhanced Exercise Performance and Recovery
Antioxidants may help to improve physical performance by lowering exhaustion and the negative effects of excessive oxygen and radical accumulation during physical exercise. In a double-blinded clinical trial that involved 54 female and male athletes, they found that when one group was given 100 milligrams of anthocyanin pills per day for six weeks the participants in that group were found to experience a significant improvement in their VO2 max (maximal oxygen consumption) compared to the second group that received 100 milligrams of placebo pills daily.

Prevent Colds and Flu
Foods high in Anthocyanins have been used for thousands of years in herbal medicine to treat cold and flu symptoms.
Foods like PXP Royale are a combination of natures brilliance and man’s scientific advancement in preserving the best qualities in our food.
PXP is milled to a concentration of 100:1 meaning only the purple Anthocyanin rich purple husk and they ‘eye’ of the rice grains (where all the nutrients are stored) are selected and then milled. You would have to eat 1 kg of rice to get the same nutrition as 100 grams of PXP Royale.
The other problem is you would have to use up a whole lot of that energy just in digesting it, and you would have to eat all the starch that is removed in the milling process.
